In a crucial step towards developing the Algerian banking sector and strengthening its role in development, a national symposium was held this morning, Tuesday, June 25, 2024. Organized by the Laboratory for Development Policy Evaluation in Algeria (POLDEVA) at the Faculty of Economics, Commercial, and Management Sciences, the symposium was chaired by Professor Sofiane Boussalah.
The symposium examined the results of field and theoretical studies aimed at identifying factors that have both direct and indirect impacts on the quality of banking services, as well as their implications for the reputation of banking institutions. It comes at a time when Algeria is seeking to diversify its economy and enhance the role of the banking sector in overall development.
Discussions covered several key areas, from the role of the service economy and banks in development to types of banking services and avenues for improvement. Additionally, the symposium focused on models for measuring service quality and its reality in Algerian banks, with an emphasis on quantitative methods for evaluating banking service quality.
